Crazy Weekend

Friday my friends never called (gawd I hate that... not first time for this duo either) so I stayed home and was a good girl. That seemed sad since it's supposed to be such a big weekend but I didn't feel like venturing out to super crowds by myself. Saturday went to my friend's dance at the Ramada. Nasty location but it's the closest to the park and makes sense if you're that type... overall it was very good, saw a bunch of people I haven't seen lately, got tipsy which has been months since that happened. The funniest part was afterwards, I was walking home (cause I'm stubborn that way) and it started to rain - ruining my determination so I flagged a cab and took it to the grocery store. Got some snacks and started walking home (it of course stopped raining while I was inside). So walking down the street a bunch of squads go flying by and one is my mom's squad but I can't see who's inside. Same squad comes back the other direction stopped facing westbound Lake St at Lyndale Av and I go running up and bang on the windows. The truck I had to pass to get there thought I was nuts and freaked out hahahha. So I rode around with mom for awhile and helped her pick out calls to go to and then she dropped me off at home. Short nap before I got up and decided that I was going to followthrough with an appearance at the park. I went to get the profile books for my dating service (oh did I mention I'm the boss now cause the other person flaked out??) and of course the coffee shop was closed. To me it doesn't make sense to not be open for coffee in the morning. And of course no posted hours so I didn't know when to come back. I was of course disheartened and still dog tired so I decided to skip the park altogether. Sunday evening was great, one of my Sunday night friends cousin is in a band that was playing at the Eagle so I stopped by and hung out with her (comped admission!) and I liked the band so much I bought a CD and Tshirt. Had to go right to work, luckily it's not far. Wish I could have hung out longer, they all seemed nice and it was a great wrap-up for Pride weekend.

Happy Pride Twin Cities!

So the big weekend is coming up and honestly I don't know what to do. I have managed to get some days off but I just don't know if I feel like going to the park. It's been a crazy spring and the dating service that I help run is being dropped in my lap and I just don't feel like doing it all by myself. Friday there is a big dance/weekend kickoff party that my friends invited me to be their third wheel, which is okay cause they're nice peeps. There are two conflicting women's dances on Saturday and they both are a little spendy but one is being hosted by my friend and the other is in a big club which I don't know if I'm really feeling up for..... Sunday if I can drag myself out of bed at a decent hour the parade might be nice and a quick run through the park. Dunno. We'll have to see.

Body World

Got to see it for free at the Science Museum with the Police Athletic League. Sometimes I love being a volunteer! The show is absolutely amazing especially for science nerds like me. I highly recomend getting there if you can. During the day is best I hear the crowds are bad in evenings and impossible on the weekends.

Speaking of nerves of steel....

Saw a sneak preview of Superman Returns today. Happy Father's day. I took my dad and a friend (not that friend just a regular friend). I do love Kevin Spacey he stole some key scenes... although I didn't feel much spark between Lois Lane and Superman. The special effects are wonderful and the overall feel of the movie is very much like the earlier films if you can ignore the timeline not matching real life. Overall thumbs up.
I alos highly recommend National Geographic Channels' show "The Science of Superman" after the movie if suspension of disbelief in the film is important to you.

I musta said something right!

She was out of town over the weekend dropping off her cats at her parents for babysitting for a big trip she's going on... during dinner I had said I'll see you when you're back from the big trip. But I musta said something right cause she called me Sunday (had to be mere moments after getting home) and asked if we could hang out before she leaves... wow, you bet. Wait, don't seem too anxious... don't be too goofy... oh forget it, if she don't like who I am already then too bad, gee I hope she likes me too ::sigh::

Nerves of steel

Wish I had 'em. Tonigh I had a first date... well I think it's a date anyways. It's not the first time I've hung out with this person but this is definately an escalation of the type of hanging out we've done in the past (coffee, winter bike rides). And I had offered to have dinner before but she has been nowhere to be found for months... I think it went well... she was late but not enough to irratate me and we shared a tasty bottle of Greek wine and talked until the restaraunt was almost empty... I floated home on a cloud.

Thank heaven....

...for little girls. Just for mentoring purposes of course! Get your mind out of the gutter! I've been matched with a new young person through Bolder Options biking program and so far it's been going well.... She hasn't been on a bike for years but we did almost seven miles today.

I'm so proud of her! Impending problem tho: her parents are trying to buy a house in SHAKOPEE!! And for those of you unfamiliar that ain't remotely close to Minneapolis when you have no motorized vehicles. Oh yeah, I've sold all my enclosed vehicles people! I'm a bicycle hippie 100%.
