All things considered...

Yep, I've been vacationing, socializing, planning events (singles picnic redux this saturday!!) and reconnecting with my Bolder Options girl. And not posting. I got the city inspector off my back once again. The dogs are well. I've been bike riding a ton, and not posting. Chicka is well, and I'm busy trying to get her addicted to Gilmore Girls the way that I am. Would sure make our combined loitering a lot easier! Speaking of which the new season starts next Tuesday! I'm so very excited about that. It's the little things. Speaking of little things, I have officially used the G word to introduce my galpal to some old friends and it was well recieved on her end. So some progress even though we're still so different we have a miscommunication of a semi-severe magnatude about once a week. I guess I never thought about what kind of assumptions people make about each other based on the littlest things from the past. Nothing severe, just city mouse country mouse kinda things. There's still hope I think. After all we did just accidently sail past three months of official which is kind of a record for me. Aprroaching a year ago that I met her. I dunno.

Segue, the big bike ride for Bolder Options is this saturday morning. I apparantly don't get to sleep that day, or at least just in little fits and starts. But I'm excited to being doing it nonetheless. Hopefully it won't be too cold or rainy like last year. And dad doesn't work so I can borrow the car to pick her and the bikes up and bring to the starting line. Wish us luck!

Movie Maven

Little Miss Sunshine has so much going on in this fantastic movie that I don't even know what to focus on! There's a strange family that's doing everything they can to keep together and support each other's odd and yet endearing lives. The cast, including Steve Cavell (40YO Virgin, American version of "The Office"), Greg Kinnear (As Good as it Gets), and some relative newcomers, does a great job so you'll have a vested interest in the outcome. Not for small children as there is plenty of swearing and some drug use. Thumbs WAY UP.

Greg Kinnear is also in the second movie getting a thumbs up today, Invincible, although this time it's just a supporting role to the rapper Marky Mark. I'm so glad he gave up the rapping as he's a much better actor! Although some of our staff was not around in 1976, you'll still enjoy this movie about a local yokel that makes good when the odds are stacked against him. It's Disney so all ages could attend, although very small children might get squirming at the 104 minute length.

And finally, Crank. If you're going just for the action you might be disappointed with the attempts to throw a plot into this movie about a professional hit man's bad day. Some of the ideas, stunts and chase scenes are brand new which is very nice but the overall feel is that you've seen this movie before, or it's a sequel since this actor has played the same type of charactor before. Adults only for male nudity, drug abuse, severe violence. Thumbs still up overall.
