Gay week

So it's been my own Gay Pride week.. doing all things queer and wonderful. The Big Gay Bakesale Fundraiser for the Flaming Film Festival was last Saturday. Went to see the Homocore bands on Thursday, April Electra last night and today, yes people it's finally happening.... I'm getting my hair cut! Ten minutes with the ol' gang and I was ready for the clippers. hahah. In between Gay Ol Times I've been spending time with K and disscussing how incompatible we are overall and how she just can't allow herself to get serious with me. I thought we were past that but it likes to keep resurfacing just when I'm feeling cozy. It's kinda funny cause for a change I'm not the Shane, or wait, I am but I'm dating myself? Anywho.

Good news all around, the person that bought my convertible sold her other vehicle so I got paid today! It's nice to be flush with cash when I need it. I was supposed to get off my butt and sell some of my other transportation but that hasn't happened and it's almost winter upon us. Sad to admit... I wonder if I could sell the Mustang to someone who wants to work on it all winter and have a stylin' vehicle for the spring? That would involve some motivation, and I already have a top priority on the list (another letter from the city inspector GRRRR) so I've got some gardening to do first and foremost.

Chica is out of town so time to enjoy a bachelor evening! Vacation is wonderful....

Happpy Birthday to me!

So I just had my birthday featuring Costco sushi and lots of sake. My new gal came over and helped decorate and gave me one of the best gifts ever. I like handmade items, especially artistic. It was her birthday the week before and I made one of her gifts too... I made a cheesy sign for her classroom and got her a Gay Games rainbow bear when I was in Chicago. Of course there were small gag gifts too. Matching chopsticks (cause it's funny when bobos that have been dating awhile having matching everything), and a used jigsaw puzzle. Sometimes it's nice to have a private joke hahaha. A couple of the Sunday night str8 peeps came over and also my neighbor and his girlfriend. The neighbor couple and K and I went out dancing at the Townhouse. It was very interesting to say the least.... I have high hopes for them (as a couple) but it is not a widely held view I found out later. Weird. Maybe my basis for comparision is so skewed that they seem normal to me. I dunno. Overall a success even though I bought way more sushi than I could finish in the days following the party! A rousing success.

Romance and things...

So this week was the first time there was some sort of issue between me and my new lady... seems with a little communication we've cleared the hurdle. And overall things still going very well.

I've reconnected with my Little Brother after my trip, we went and played at the Park on the jungle gym and ran around like crazy monkeys. And I also talked to my Bolder Options mentee on the phone, she's finally back from out of town visiting her uncle. They close on their new house on Monday. Sucky part is that it's further away, but we'll work something out somehow. Only eight months left in the program anyways, so just have to tough it out and borrow vehicles and learn the bus route between my house and hers.

Still pulling it all together and trying to only do the things that are important to me and let the rest take care of itself!! Keeping that New Year's Resolution to stop overbooking my life with the trivial and mundane.

Chicago Conference

It's good to be home. I was surprised I wasn't more entertained in Chicago the supposedly 3rd largest city in the nation. I did check out Navy Pier and the gift shop at the Chicago Musuem of Art. And just did a lot of walking around in general looking at the buildings and things. The conference was good and inspiring, with great speakers like Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Plus really good conversations with my chicka. The one time I don't think cell phones are a scourge on the planet. FREE LONG DISTANCE!! hahah. And of course the orange alert did not make my flight home any easier, but compared to my flight there (under supposedly normal conditions) we left two hours late. Super sucky. I did a lot of train and bus riding, including to the parties on Thursday night. Brought home some souveniers and big ideas at least. Now to pass them on to my stewards!!
